The influence of "Heritage Iris" in shades of purple, in my front garden are an undeniable influence for me. This one-of-a kind shawl reflects the effects of "iris in bloom" by the blending hues of purple colors together. It is hand woven with hand dyed cotton and ribbons on my 4-harness floor loom in plain weave.

Derived from a Sanskrit word, "shawl" is a simple item of clothing worn over the shoulder, upper body and arms or sometimes over the head. Shawls have been worn in every culture though out the centuries by men as well as women. The shawl I have designed and woven, is a federal blue/ grey color of hand dyed cotton, linen and ribbon. It can be wrapped in various ways and held with the shawl stick. Be creative and enjoy your style!

This one of a kind shawl, was handwoven with boucle mohair and other fine yarn. Touches of hand spun and dyed mohair/merino yarns in shades of brown and rust with deep orange ribbons pop up through out the piece.
