Many years ago, I acquired some handcrafted, miniature kitchen utensils that I thought were quite wonderful. I wanted to add similar pieces to the collection in the hope of someday designing a street peddler selling his goods. So far, I am still looking!

In trying to come up with an idea for the month of September, I thought a Labor Day themed nodder would be fun. The peddler man again came to mind. However, I decided to make 'him' a 'her' and created instead a basket weaver hawking her wares.

It is always fascinating to me to see how a nodder takes on its own spirit during the design process. It truly does dictate what it wants to be.
